The next meeting of the PACS Web Design Special Interest Group will be this Saturday, December 21, in the 9-10 hour. Our topic this month will be “Styling a Tiled Menu.”
We have been looking at flat design for the last couple of meetings. This month we will follow up with a demo of a flat design navigation menu that uses tiles (think Microsoft’s Windows 8). We took a preliminary look in November, and this month we will get into the markup to see how to make it happen.
Our example will use Google fonts, CSS positioning, a CSS sprite, and the nth-child selector. It will be a refresher for some and new material for others, so we will see how far we get in one hour. We will have plenty of opportunity for detours along the way.
