The next meeting of the PACS Web Design Special Interest Group will be this Saturday, February 15, in the 9-10 hour. Our topic this month will be “An Editor and a Sprite.”
Things will get interesting this month. We will continue working on the example of a tiled navigation menu posted at //line25.com/tutorials/how-to-create-a-trendy-flat-style-nav-menu-in-css. The next step is to add the icons with a technique known as the CSS sprite. A sprite uses the CSS background property. We will explore how sprites work before adding one to our example to style the menu tiles.
We will also demo a free, open source editor called Brackets, available at //brackets.io/. It is designed for editing HTML, CSS, and Javascript. We will give it a try as we work on our example.
